Abstract
This chapter contains a literature review including the importance of nanotechnology, properties of NPs and methods for preparation of NPs. In addition, this chapter includes application of the synthesized silver NPs and zinc oxide NPs.Nanotechnology is a quickly developing field that includes the fundamental understanding of physical, chemical and biological characteristics in atomic and sub-atomic levels with various uses in different fields ranging from electronics to cosmetics. Metal NPs possess extraordinary and totally different characteristics from bulk materials such as physical and chemical characteristics. The methods for preparation of NPs are mainly chemical, physical and biological synthesis methods. NPs can be used in many and different applications because of their extraordinary properties such as drug delivery, sunscreens, antimicrobial bandages, cancer treatment and in the medical field.
