Abstract Citrus (Citrus spp.) counted one of the considerable fruit worldwide. Orange is the most important fruit yield in terms of cultivated area as well as the first most serious crop in terms of exports in Egypt. Therefore, care must be taken to produce it organically to meet the specifications of global markets. It has been noted that synthetic fertilizers pose a threat to both human health and the environment. Organic farming, especially, uses bio-fertilizers and organic fertilizers to obtain orange fruits that are safe and suitable for export. It has become clear from many researchers that orange orchards can improve their growth, yield production and increase the quality of their fruits while preserving the environment by using bio-fertilizers such as nitrogen-fixing microorganisms and phosphorous- solubilizing microbes and others bio-fertilizers type such as mycorrhiza and growth promoting Rhizobacteria. In addition, organic fertilizers such as humic acid, poultry manure, compost, farm yard manure and biochar can improve growth, flowering aspects, yield components and citrus fruit quality. Using organic mulch substrates enhance citrus growth and productivity. Also, organic fertilizers can be used in future citrus productivity as a tool to suppress the citrus leaf miner population and citrus canker disease. |
