Abstract

Maritime transport infrastructure is essential for national, regional and international logistics and economy more generally. However, developing the maritime transport infrastructure and the economy is a process that depends on a number of factors that may be controlled internally inside the country and others that are in relation to other countries. The internally controlled variables can be summarized as follows, the Population, Government Consumption and the Gross Capital Formation, while the externally factors are the Foreign Direct Investment, Logistics Performance index and the Quality of Ports infrastructure index. This study highlighted the role of the maritime transport infrastructure in the economic development in Egypt from 2007-2016. The model has estimated the effect of the study by using the international maritime indicators to measure the performance of the maritime transport infrastructure development
