Abstract The thesis presents a numerical investigation is carried out for five groups of preloaded RC beams strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) using the Applied Element Method.These groups had the same (reinforcement, concrete dimensions, and concrete properties) and different in fiber properties and number of layer applied. Each group has six case of preloading load. from this study it is needed to make a modification on the ACI equation to predict the ultimate load of the preloading strengthened beam as the ACI equation did not consider the preloading effect |
