Abstract
Background: Pressure Ulcer usually developed over bony prominent areas with bed ridden patients due to poor blood flow and limited oxygen to these areas to repair it ,this may increase time of hospitalization and delay rehabilitation process , Polarised light and pulsed electromagnetic field have effect on pressure ulcer. The purpose : this study was conducted to know which whether polarized light or pulsed electromagnetic field is more effective in treatment of pressure ulcer? Subjects: Thirty patients male and female with pressure ulcer 2nd,3rd degree, participated in this study. Their ages ranged from 50 to 60years were divided into two groups, group A recieved polarized light and group B received pulsed electro magnetic field for 2 months, Both groups were assessed pre and post treatment of ulcer by ulcer surface area . Results: There was significant difference between both groups by the USA post treatment between both groups as The mean difference between both groups was -6.59 cm². and by the ulcer volume The mean difference between both groups was -6.27 cm³.. Conclusion: it was concluded that Polarised light has more effect than pulsed electromagnetic field in the treatment of pressure ulcer
