Abstract
CME is a painless condition in which swelling or thickening of the macula occurs and is usually associated with blurred or distorted vision. Although the etiology of CME is unknown, intraocular inflammation and breakdown of BRB seem to play an important role in its development. Breakdown of BRB occurred as a result of inflammation of anterior segment due to surgical manipulation and release of inflammatory mediators that diffuse through vitreous to the retina.
