Abstract Schizophrenia is associated with a heterogeneous group of symptoms that cause significant distress to their sufferers; affecting their interpersonal relations, personal care, societal stigmatization, adding dual burden of coping with its positive symptoms as hallucinations, delusions and negative ones as avolition, self-care deficit, and social withdrawal, all that come with negative impact on patient{u2019}s self-esteem and self-efficacy. The results showed statistical significant differences between pre/post assessments in relation to recovery, self-management and self-efficacy levels, and in severity of delusions, disorganized speech, negative symptoms, impaired cognition, and depression. The study concluded that, psycho-educational program raised awareness toward the issue of psychiatric illness recovery and self-management and it affected positively patient{u2019}s general self-efficacy. It is recommended that, this program should be included in protocols of care in of psychiatric hospitals, and should be planned to be implemented on the secondary level of prevention.
