Abstract

Background: Dairy products industry is one of the important industries which is considered a backbone for many food industries sectors in Egypt. Dairy factories need to have some innovation and develop new goods or improve existing goods to reach market first before their competitors and to guarantee their continued existence in competitive markets. In fact, the research and development are a main component of any organization activities; without it the organizations become unable to compete and eventually deteriorate. The majority of the new products development projects in dairy factories encounters many kinds of problems, enormous challenges and risks including financial risk, competitors{u2019} risk and suppliers{u2019} risk ...etc. so, one of the chief aspects of developing a successful new manufactured goods is controlling and managing such risks. Risk management plays an important role in the development of products. This role has become increasingly important with the increased crises in the food industry especially in recent times. As a result of such crises, the importance of searching for methods and inventing methodologies and tools to help identify, measure and address risks appeared
