Abstract Objectives: This study will give an overview on results of surgery for synovial sarcoma in National Cancer Institute from January 2010 till December 2017 and showing pathological results and short term postoperative results of surgery and the role of adjuvant therapy.Patients and methods:This retrospective analysis involving all cases diagnosed as synovial sarcoma and treated at surgical oncology department at the National Cancer Institute from January 2010 till December 2017. Results:According to study of 109 patient with synovial sarcoma presented to surgical oncology department at the National Cancer Institute ,the study showing that the mean age of patients was 30 years and the majority of cases were monophasic subtype, and with pathological examination of these cases it shows that most of cases were in advanced stage tumors (IIIa), and there is significant disease free survival and overall survival with early stage and with the use of adjuvant radiotherapy after adequate surgical resection |
