Abstract Background:Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has major, diverse effects on patients’ health-related quality-of-life (HRQoL), spanning both physical and mental domains of well-being. Nowadays, medication compliance is a major contributor to treatment outcomes to achieve remission. However, inadequate medication compliance is common in clinical practice; especially in RA. Objective: To assess medication compliance among patients with RA and determine factors affecting it; aiming at improving the clinical disease outcome and health related quality of life of our patients.Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted on 101 Egyptian RA patients attending rheumatology outpatient clinic at Kasr Al-Aini teaching Hospital where all patients were subjected to full history, complete clinical examination (general and articular) including assessment of disease activity, assessment of HRQoL using Short form{u2013} 36 quality of life questionnaire (SF-36 QoL), assessment of medication compliance using The 5-item Compliance Questionnaire of Rheumatology and routine laboratory investigations |
