Abstract Aim: This clinical study was conducted to evaluate and compare the post-operative pain after using WaveOne file and Neolix file for root canal preparation after 6, 12, 24, 48 hours utilizing (NRS) numerical rating scale. The trial design of this study was a parallel randomized controlled blinded trial. 8Methods: 9Forty four patients suffering from acute irreversible pulpitis of lower premolar teeth without periapical radiolucency underwent one-visit root canal treatment. The patients were randomized to equal groups according to the method of root canal preparation either with WaveOne file or Neolix file.10All demographic data, clinical and radiographic findings and NRS score obtained from the patients were statistically analyzed 11Results:12Results showed that there was no statistical difference between the two groups regarding demographic data except gender, prevalence of postoperative pain. There was statistical significant difference in postoperative pain reduction between the two groups at 12 hours where in Neolix group was higher than WaveOne group.13Conclusion: Within the limitation of this study it was concluded that both files are reliable method for root canal preparation having a normal range of postoperative pain |
