Abstract

Introduction: A renal lesion <4 cm in largest dimension that demonstrates contrast enhancement on abdominal imaging meets criteria for definition of a small renal mass(SRM), dealing with small renal masses betterly achived by partial nephrectomy weather open ,laparoscopic or robotic, in this study we are evaluating NCI experience regarding partial nephrectomy Patient and methods : descriptive retrospective study for NCI experience in NSS which will include all cases diagnosed with small renal masses (thirty four patients) underwent nephron sparing surgery from January 2013 to the end of 2017. were evaluated regarding patient selection , operative techniques , postoperative follow up operative complications , hospital stay, postoperative renal functions, local recurrence, development of metastasis, survival (overall and disease free), recurrence in the contralateral kidney. and their pathological variations Results: The median age was 52 years ,mean hospital stay was 8 days, mean tumor size was 5 cm .there was no significant change in renal functions, malignant tumors were the dominant pathology & most common was clear type renal cell carcinoma, post operative complications occured with 16% of cases and DFS was 81% .Conclusion: partial nephrectomy is an efficient surgery dealing with small renal masses , even with larger size up to 7 cm
