Abstract The present study is a randomized clinical trial conducted on 19 patients (20 sinuses) to evaluate bone height gain, bone density (grey scale) values and implant stability after maxillary sinus floor elevation using either hydroxyapatite nanoparticles bone graft technique or augmentation using graftless tenting with simultaneous implant placement. All the patients were followed up clinically and radiographically for 6 months.Radiographic evaluation involved cone beam CT one week and six months postoperatively to evaluate bone height gain, bone density changes. Resonance frequency analysis to measure implant stability using Osstell device was performed immediately after implant insertion and six months postoperative at time of implant exposure.Statistical analysis of the results showed significant difference between the two groups in two studied parameters in favor of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles bone. Both techniques showed acceptable results regarding implant stability. Hydroxyapatite nanoparticles bone graft and tenting techniques are acceptable treatment options for successful implant placement in atrophic posterior maxilla through single stage sinus lifting procedure |
