Abstract This is a prospective comparative interventional study carried out on thirty patients presenting to the ENT outpatient clinic seeking rhinoplasty with a nasal hump from the period of August 2016 till May 2018. They were divided into two equal groups of fifteen patients as follows; group A were the nasal dorsum was constructed by spreader grafts while in group B spreader flaps were used. All our patients underwent rhinoplasty with or without septoplasty through the closed technique. The results were compared functionally and aesthetically. Functional assessment was done subjectively by the NOSE score and objectively by the active anterior rhinomanometry. Aesthetic results were based on patients{u2019} satisfaction and blinded peer surgeons{u2019} opinions. It could be concluded that the spreader flap is a good alternative to the spreader graft in nasal dorsal reconstruction after hump resection giving similar positive results both functionally and aesthetically |
