Abstract The study was conducted in two Egyptian governorates Alsharkia which is located in the north eastern region of Egypt (east of Delta) and El-Fayoum which is located in the middle region of Egypt (in western desert). The study involved two stages of survey during period from July 2014 to December 2015. The first stage (July to December 2014) target population was smallholder keep indigenous chicken, samples of two hundred individual households were used. The second stage (January to December 2015) target population was smallholder keep indigenous chicken and management interventions had been disseminated by extension services. Samples of two hundred individual households’ were randomly selected, through semi-structured interviews with questionnaires to collect data through monthly visits. The results indicate that 45% of the smallholders adopted the management interventions package as disseminated by the extension service were considered to be housing, vaccination, chick rearing, improved strains and feed supplementation management intervention packages, they were presented 6.50, 3.50, 8, 18 and 9%, respectively. Majority (50%) selectively components of the management interventions package were considered full packages, feed supplementation and improved strains and feed supplementation and vaccination, they presented 12, 30.50 and 7.50%, respectively |
