Abstract The aim of this study is to determine whether there is an association between proximity of breast cancer to the skin and incidence of axillary lymph node positivity which is established as a clinical prognostic factor in females with early breast cancer in order to clarify a new guideline in management of early breast cancer. Our study proved that the more proximal the tumor from the skin, the higher the incidence of axillary lymph node metastasis, and the cut off value was 2.5cm from the skin. It also proved that U/S is an accurate, reliable tool in a assessing this distance |
