Abstract

Two pot experiments were carried out at the Experimental Farm of the Fac. Agric. Saba Basha, Alex. Univ. during the seasons of 2017 and 2018 to study the effect of foliar application of proline +AA acid (control, 1g proline + 0.2 g AA/L, 1 g proline + 0.3 g AA/L, 2 g proline + 0.2 g AA/L and 2 g proline + 0.3 g AA/L) under saline condition (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 g NaCl/L) as well as their interaction on growth and chemical composition of Duranta repens and Conocarpus erectus. The experiment was designed as a split plot design, whereas NaCl levels were arranged as main plots and proline + AA took places as sup plots. The plants were irrigated with tap water for one month, then the treatments of either foliar application with proline + AA or salinity starting on 1st April to 1st Oct. the plants were irrigated day after day and they were irrigated with tap water every 3 irrigations with saline water to avoid salt accumulation. Also, the plants were sprayed 7 times during the season with one-month interval.
