المستخلص Abstract The present study is entitled: “The Effect of Gothic Horror Literature on The Novels of Ahmed Khaled Tawfiq” The field of study is devoted to “Frankenstein,” the wonderful Mary Shelley, and “Dracula,” the immortal creativity of Bram Stoker, and then the impact of these two works on Ahmed Khaled Tawfiq’s novels. The study includes an introduction, a preface, two chapters, and a conclusion with the most important findings and recommendations, followed by a list of sources and references. The introduction includes the reasons for choosing the topic, its objectives, the questions of the study, the methodology of the study, and previous studies. The preface examines the psychology of fear, the aesthetics of ugliness, Gothic horror literature and its most important pioneers, and Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and Ahmed Khaled Tawfiq. Chapter one entitled: The Effect of Gothic Horror Literature on the Intellectual Content of Ahmed Khaled Tawfiq’s Novels (“Frankenstein and Dracula” as models), addresses the emergence and development of the model, following this with the symbolic meaning that the model carries in the novels under study. Chapter two entitled: The Effect of Gothic Horror Literature on the Artistic Construction of Ahmed Khaled Tawfiq's Novels, deals with this impact through: characters, time, place, and event. In the end, the conclusion briefly reveals the most important findings and recommendations of the study, followed by sources and references cited. |
