Abstract

This thesis entitled comprises four chapters and ends with a list of references. The first chapter covers the literature up to date of the nucleophilic aryl substitution reactions and their different mechanisms. The second chapter consists of a first part that describes the methods of preparation of compounds 4-6 obtained from the reactions of compounds 1-3 with ethanolamine and includes the kinetic data and the procedure used to determine the rate constants for the reactions of compounds 1-3 with ethanolamine at five temperatures. The third chapter deals with the discussion and interpretation of the results obtained from the above mentioned reactions. It provides plausible mechanisms for the formation of the products.
