Abstract Survey on olive insect pests during 3 seaons (2014-2015-2016) to identify the species which infested the olive trees in Burg El-Arab special 4 cultivars (Shemlali-Picual-Tophahy- Kalamata) and determined the sensitive cultivar to some pests. Also, used the Mc Phail trap to attracted the olive fruit fly during the season. Survey study: the survey of olive insect pests was done at the experimental farm of city of scientific research and technological applications during 3 seasons April 2014 up to November 2016. The collective data revealed 9 main insect pests related to 5 orders Hemiptera (4 spices),Homoptera(1 spices), Lepidoptera(2 spices), Coleoptera (1 spices)and Diptera(1 spices). Or: Hemiptra, Fam:Diaspididae 1) Aspidiotus nerii 1- The Infestation rate with A.nerii : The data collected in two seasons (2015-2016),on shemlali cultivar the maximum rate in October with(34% - 51%)in 2015 and 2016, respectively. On Picual cultivar the maximum rate in November with(23%)but the second season was in April(39%). On tophahy cultivar the maximum rate was in November with(37.9%) and in 2016 was (35.2%) in September . On kalamata cultivar the maximum rate occurred in October(38.2%), While in 2016 was (26.1%)in August . 2- Effect of cardinal directions on the distribution of A.nerii: on shemlali cultivar the highest rate occurred in East direction (31.2%)in 2015 but in 2016 it was in North with(45.8%). On Picual cultivar in 2015, the highest rate recorded in East direction (32.8%) and 2016 it was in North direction(50%). On tophahy cultivar the highest rate (27.5%) was in West during the season of 2015 but in 2016 it was (38.5%) in East direction. On kalamata cultivar the highest ratio was in East (38.9%)but it was in South direction in the second season with (46.2%). 3- Effect of olive cultivar on the rate of infestation by A.nerii: The highest grand total observed in tophahy (37.48%) after that shemlali with (29.43%) then kalamata with (18.25%) and the least was picual with rate(14.82%). 2) Leucaspis riccae 1- The Infestation rate with L.riccae: During season of 2016, on shemlali cultivar the maximum rate was (34.9%) in September. On Piccual cultivar the highest rate was (43.7%) in October while in tophahy cultivar it was (33%)in November as the maximum rate. finally in kalamata cultivar the maximum rate was in October with(75%). |
