Abstract The present thesis entitled “Reuse the activated agricultural wastes (Sugarcane Bagasse Ash) to remove some basic and acidic dyes from aqueous solution by using phosphoric acid” contains (118) pages, (122) References, (8) Tables and (77) Figures, and comprises of four chapters: Chapter I is concerned with pollution, dyes and their hazardous effect, common techniques for removal of dyes and the previous studies made on the removal of Crystal violet and Methyl orange by using adsorption technique. Chapter II contained the preparation of adsorbents by the chemical modification of sugarcane bagasse ash adsorbent by a composite of bentonite and polyurethane then activated by using phosphoric acid. The adsorbent was characterized using Brunauer–Emmett–Teller method (SBET), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Point of Zero Charge pH(PZC), bulk density, moisture content, ash content, volatile matter and carbon yield. Experimental part for using SCBBPU and SCBB as adsorbents for the removal of Crystal violet and Methyl orange from aqueous solutions through the batch adsorption process |
