Abstract This dissertation presents a comprehensive study for the ancient Egyptian festivals that had been approached with certain routes through processions. The first part of this thesis highlights the variety of these festivals in ancient Egypt and their value. The second part presents an iconographical study for the representations of the divine barque as a main element in the famous processions, and then displays the processional pathways in the east bank of Thebes. The third part crosses to the west bank of Thebes for exploring more processional pathways link the two banks together, or between the mortuary temples in Western Thebes. |
