More half of nurses working in Suez general hospital had moderate level of commitment, while half of nurses working in Ismailia general hospital had low level of commitment (52.2%, 50.7% respectively). That there was no statistically significant relation between commitment and occupational stress scores among nurses working in Ismailia general hospital while in Suez general hospital, there was statistically significant relation between level of organizational commitment and occupational stress scores among nurses (r=.199 & p=.86, r=.268 & p=.002 respectively). Recommendations: Based on the study findings, it recommends to establish an occupational stress committee, which includes a reprehensive group of nurses, to plan and implement a proper stress reduction program with appropriate coping strategies and clear and specific job satisfaction, flexible and fair work schedule, and regular meeting between supervisors and their staff nurses to discuss and solve their problem and so improve their organizational commitment.
