Abstract This work aims to investigate the effects of environmental contamination upon the genetic material of fish. To achieve such a purpose, samples fish and water form four sites were conducted and effect of water pollution on human were studied chromosomes. The obtained results indicated that: 1) Analysis of Heavy metals in water samples revealed that, copper ranged from (4.58 : 28.12) ppm for the sites (1,4), respectively, cadmium was found to beranged from ( 9.32 : 28.32) ppm for the sited 1, 4 lead ranged from (6.82: 68,87)ppm. Analysis of heavy metals in fish organs in gills: copper ranged from (4.90 to8.60) m/g of fish sites (1and 4). Cadmium concentrations were found to be ranged from (1.62 to 3.68) m/g. Lead concentrations ranged from (3.18 to 5.22) m/g. While liver analyzed from heavy metals revealed that it contained copper (3.14 to 5.60) m/g. Cadmium ranged from (0.16 to 1.84 m/g. Lead ranged from (1.78 to 2.92) m/g. Analysis of heavy metals in muscles revealed that it contained copper (1.12 to 1.80) m/g. Cadmium ranged from (0.28 to 0.50) m/g. Lead ranged from (0.91 to 1.50) m/g. 2) Investigation of enzyme activity showed that: The activity of glutamic pyruvic transaminase ranged from 13.70 to 46.02 units/mg tissue protein. Activity of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase ranged from (44.20 to100.50). Liver protein ranged from (7.90 to 11.72). 3) Analysis of nucleic acids and total proteins revealed that Deoxyribonucleic ranged from (18.40 to 31.26) mg. Ribonucleic acid was found to be ranged from (31.62 to 135.68) mg. While total proteins ranged from (132.54 to 168.88) mg 54 4) Red cells of fish caught from site 1(Aaltarah) and site 4, found that site 1 gave 3.65% abnormal red cells, while site 4 ( Mariout) gave 13.19% abnormal red cells. It means four folds of site 1. 5) The obtained results showed that human chromosomes abnormalities it was found that site 1 (Aaltarah) gave total No. of damaged cells was (14% ), while site 4 (Mariout) gave total No. of damaged cells was (32% ), Different values were obtained giving a strong defense that urban reasons were highly polluted. |
