Abstract The main aim of the present work is to study the possibility to use only IEC/DEC in the cooling process of the fresh air supplied to the buildings. For this purpose, experimental data were obtained from a test rig that was specially designed and built to contain a typical air handling unit with fully controlled climatic conditions of fresh intake supply air with a combined indirect-direct evaporative exchanger. The electrical heaters and steam generators installed in the air inlet sections were adjusted to simulate the actual climatic conditions of dry bulb and relative humidity for the supply air.Measurements included air temperature and relative humidity as well as the air flow rates |
