Abstract This study was done to attempt assessing the possibility of using one of the biomarkers involved in Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development, for early detection of HCC, these biomarkers include Leptin and IGFBP-3. In this study we measure the levels of these biomarkers in serum and plasma samples of liver cirrhosis (LC), chronic hepatitis C (CHC),HCC as well as healthy controls using ELISA technique. Our data supported the clinical significance of Leptin and IGFBP-3 in early detection of HCC. Thus, using the studied serological markers in combination with AFP may offer more efficient diagnosis over AFP alone in the early detection of HCCy |
