المستخلص Introduction: Penile length is used to assess the external genitalia. Abnormalities in external genitalia, e.g., macropenis and micropenis. There should be reference values for penile anthropometry of different populations Objective: To assess stretched penile length values for prepubertal Egyptian boys aged from five to nine years & establish a growth curve & percentiles for penile length at this age. Subjects and Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted on 1500 boys aged five to nine years in Cairo University Children{u2019}s Hospital, Faculty of Medicine. Children were divided into 5 groups each group 300 child. All children were subjected to measurement of weight, height and stretched penile length. Results: The mean penile length by age grouping were at five years = 5.31(SD 0.92) cm, at six years = 5.51(SD 1.00) cm, at seven years = 5.87(SD 0.85) cm, at eight years = 6.19(SD 0.93) cm and at nine years = 6.10(SD 0.92) cm. Conclusion: With this study, novel reference values & percentiles for penile length in prepubertal Egyptian children aged five to nine years were presented to the literature |
