Abstract This study was conducted to determine the effect of interferential current on premenstrual syndrome.Thirty females suffering from premenstrual syndrome, their age ranged from 16 to 25 yrs. Were participated in this study, They were divided into two groups (A&B) equal in number. Study group (group B) who received interferential current for 20 minutes/ per session for three sessions per week, for three months, 7 days before cycle. In addition to their medical treatment, (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS).Control group (group A) who took their medical treatment only (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). Assessment was done by using VAS, estimation of Cortisol level and Premenstrual syndrome questionnaire , for each subject before and after the study.The results of the study revealed that there was a highly statistical significant decrease in the mean values of VAS score ,serum cortisol level and PMS questionnaire in group (B) when compared with its corresponding value in group (A) were p- values were (0.001). So, it be concluded that the interferential current has an effect on premenstrual syndrome |
