This thesis discussed the analysis of four different mixtures. The raised problems upon the analysis of those mixtures were the different chemical properties of the components; the different spectral profiles of the components which included partial or complete overlap and the different ratios of the components in the mixtures. The studied mixtures are that containing aceclofenac (ACE) and paracetamol (PAR), aceclofenac(ACE) and Diacerin (DIA), Doxylamine Succinate (DOX), Caffeine (CAF) and Paracetamol (PAR) and Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (PSE) and Ibuprofen (IBU( where, stability-indicating spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods were applied for the simultaneous determination of the proposed drugs; in the presence of their degradation products; diclofenac (DIC) and 4- aminophenol (4-AP) and rhein (RH) respectively. The UV spectrophotometric methods have the advantages of time and cost saving when compared to the chromatographic techniques. Also, they do not require multistep solving equations or working with additional sophisticated software enabling their application in quality control laboratories for their routine analysis. Different spectrophotometric methods were applied for achieving best resolution and quantitative determination of each drug without any interference from the others or from their degradation products. Different manipulating pathways were applied. These pathways were applied based on processing the data of zero order absorption spectra namely; dual wavelength (DW) and induced dual wavelength (IDW) methods or on ratio of zero order absorption spectra namely, ratio difference (RD) and constant center (CC) methods or applying a derivative to these ratio spectra namely, unlimited derivative ratio (UDD) method
