Abstract

Atalla granite hosting gold deposit represents a small and ellipsoidal pluton of an approximate area 0.4 km2 with a NW-SE orientation. The gold mineralization is restricted to the NE-SW trending auriferous quartz veins and adjacent alteration zones. The granite occurs along the NW-SE Atalla shear zone. Depending on modal mineralogical analysis, the granite comprises quartz (” " ~ " ” 34%), plagioclase (” " ~ " ” 35%), perthite (” " ~ " ” 28%) and biotite (” " ~ " ” 2%), while phengite, chlorite, secondary albite, and pyrite are the minor minerals (” " ~ " ” 1%). The pluton is monzo- to synogranitic in composition and shows I-type affinity with calc-alkaline and magnesian characters. Furthermore, the granite shows LREE enrichment, Eu anomaly (Eu/Eu* = 0.6), and Yb/Lu = ” " ~ " ” 6.8, which suggest that it was generated by partial melting of juvenile crustal rocks.
