Abstract
Background: The prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes is increasing in Egypt as well as in the world. Excessive cardiovascular mortality is seen in patients of diabetic nephropathy. Recently, Echocardiography has become the gold standard in detecting structural changes in heart of these patients. Aim: To evaluate the structural and functional cardiovascular changes using Echocardiography in diabetic patients with diabetic nephropathy in comparison with those without diabetic nephropathy.. Patients and Methods: It was observational cross sectional study conducted at Cardiology and Internal medicine department , Tanta university hospitals. from June 2021 to June 2022 . Sixty patients with type2 Diabetes Mellitus were included ,and the study population divided into: group (A): 30 patients with type2diabetes mellitus only and group (B): 30 patients with type 2 diabetes with diabetic nephropathy . ECHO was done to all patients at Cardiology department , Tanta university hospitals.
