Abstract

The present study was designed at Sakha Agricultural Research Station, Kafr El Shiekh, Egypt, during 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 winter growing seasons. The objectives of this study were to determine the integrated broomrape (O.crenata) control on the two cultivars faba bean (faba L.) with intercropped faba bean with fenugreek, flax, parsley, turnip, garlic and herbicideglyphosate and the obtained results could be discussed under the following main topics: 3. Effect of the two faba bean cultivars, weed managements as well as their interaction with broomrape growth and yield during 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons. 1.4. Effect of faba bean cultivars on broomrape growth and yield during 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons. The obtained results indicate that, broomrape traits were significantly affected by faba cultivars (P=0.05). The faba bean cultivar Giza-843 seemed to be recommended under broomrape infection, where it resulted in a significant reduction on all broomrape traits during seasons of this study. Compared to Sakha 3, broomrape plants growing under Giza-843 had the lowest number of broomrape spike/m2 (24.85 and 24.72 spikes/m2), fresh spikes weight/m2 (87.18 and 85.02 g), dry spikes weight/m2 (60.07 and 58.58 g), number of capsules/spike (20.11 and 19.99 capsules/spike) and spike length (49.28 and 48.93 cm), respectively.
