Abstract Among their different types, the linear synchronous reluctance machine (LSynRM) is becoming a competing candidate due to its robustness and cheap structure as it has no windings or magnets on the moving part. However, it suffers from poor power factor, low force density, and high force ripples. Still, LSynRMs have not been thoroughly investigated in literature. Furthermore, with the emergence of rare-earth permanent magnet materials, attention has been given to their use to improve the performance of electrical machines. |
