Abstract The Quaternary Corals record is essential for understanding the history of geological events, primarily paleoenvironmental and sea level changes as well as evolutionary studies. This work provides a comprehensive description of the Red Sea Scleractinian families:Acroporidae,Agariciidae,Dendrophylliidae,Euphylliidae,Fungiidae, Leptastreidae Lobophy lliidae,Merulinidae, Oculinidae, Plesiastreidae,Pocilloporidae, Poritidae, Siderastreidae, that included the most common coral genera and present a useful reference material for those who attempt to identify Quaternary reef at species level based on skeletal structure for helping in evaluating and estimation of actual species diversity in the Red Sea as well as predicting their response to changing in the environmental conditions |
