Abstract

The present study was carried out on forty- three gastrointestinal tract of five different species of domestic animals surveyed for helminths infection during the period from September 2018 to March 2019. The study was conducted on animals which are in daily close contact with the human.These were the domestic cattle {Bos taurus, no. 12, Bovidae), the domestic dog Canis lupus familiaris, no. 9, Canidae), the horse {Equus ferus caballus, no. 5, Equidae), the donkey or ass {Equus africanus asinus, no.7, Equidae), the Egyptian camel Camelus dromedaries, no.10, Camelidae). During the present study, one species of digenean parasites was recovered, Gastrodiscus aegyptiacus (Gastrodiscidae) from the ass, Equus africanus asinns (Equidae).Two different species of cestode parasites were recorded from the intestine of the examined hosts; these were Taenia {Multiceps) multiceps (Taeniliidae) and Echinococcus granulosus (Taeniliidae) from domestic dog Canis lupus familiaris (Canidae). Five different species of nematode parasites were recovered from the intestine of the examined hosts, these were Strongylus vulgaris (Strongylidae) from the horse, Equus ferns caballus (F: Equidae), Dictyocaulus viviparous (Dictyocaulidae) from the domestic Cattle, Bos Taurus (F: Bovidae), Setaria equina (Setariidae) from donkey or ass Equus africanus asinus (F: Equidae), Haemonchus longistipes (Trichostrongylidae) from the Egyptian camel Camelus dromedaries (Camelidae) and Habronema muscae (Habronematidae) from the horse, Equus ferus caballus (F:Equidae)
