Abstract

Aim: evaluate the outcomes of single visit regenerative endodontic procedures using conventional irrigation protocol of sodium hypochlorite combined with EDTA in comparison to LASER disinfection in comparison to 0.2% Nano Chitosan irrigating solution for treatment of necrotic mature anterior teeth with periapical lesions. Methodology: Forty five patients diagnosed with anterior teeth that have non-vital pulps, mature roots and shows radiographic evidence of periapical lesion were recruited in this trial. Preoperative standardized cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was performed for the patients after fulfillment of inclusion criteria. Preoperative CBCT was used to obtain preoperative measurement of periapical lesions. After complete diagnostic steps and signing of consent forms the patients were randomly distributed into three groups where: 1. group A (Intervention 1) comprise 15 patients in which single visit regeneration procedures was performed using Low Power Diode LASER disinfection. 2. group B (Intervention 2 ) comprise 15 patients in which single visit regeneration procedures was performed using 0.2% Nano Chitosan irrigation disinfection in a side perforated needle inserted 1 mm shorter than the working length. This irrigant was prepared in nano tech labs , Cairo, Egypt. 3. group C (Comparator) comprise 15 patients in which regeneration procedures was performed by conventional irrigation protocol using 1.25% sodium hypochlorite irrigating solution and 17% EDTA only as disinfection means.
