Abstract Forty patients were with chronic lower limb ischaemia due to femoropopliteal disease.They were treated by endovascular interventions.These interventions were failed within 30 days. The causes of early failure are: Intra procedure (14 cases) i) Inability to cross the lesion in twelve cases (30%) ii) Distal arterial tree embolization in two cases (5%) Post procedure (26 cases) During the 30 days follow up: i) Acute stent thrombosis in seven cases (17.5%) ii) Flow limiting dissection in eight cases (20%) iii) Residual stenosis in three cases (7.5%) iv) Acute thrombosis in two cases (5%) v) Missed iliac lesions in two cases (5%) vi) Distal arterial tree embolization in two cases (5%) Clinical failure was the cause in two cases (5%) The Management Was: 1) Redo endovascular in 18 patients (45%) 2) Surgical bypass in 14 patients (35%) F Primary amputation in 6 patients (15%) 4) Medical treatment in 2 patients (5%) After 6 months follow up Limb salvage was in 57.5% of the cases with TMA in 69.6% of them. Major amputation was in 42.5% of the cases |
