Abstract

The use of plasmonic nano structures with thin film solar cells (TFSC) is an e{uFB03}cient way to boost up its power absorbance. In this thesis, we present a numerical model based on finite di{uFB00}erence time domain (FDTD). We apply this model on thin solar cells with di{uFB00}erent plasmonic nano structures like asymmetric nano shells, yolk shells, and sphere cube hetero dimer. The numerical analysis is based on solving Maxwell{u2019}s equation. We study the e{uFB00}ect of using these nano particles on the absorbance and short circuit current of the thin solar cells. Also, we provide a mathematical model using Artificial neural network (ANN) to calculate the photo-generated current of solar cell with plasmonic sphere cube heterodimer
