Abstract

Patients with a nonunion of a fracture of the scaphoid of at least six months{u2019}duration, with humpback deformity, Collapsed scaphold excessive sclerosis and arthritis, Grade I were included in the study. Patients with Scaphoid nonunion advanced collapse (SNAC) grade II, III, Previous operation and infection were excluded from the study. Patients were operated up on and followed up at kasralAiny hospital. For an effective fixation of a scaphoid non-union some criteria should be fulfilled concerning the gap size, amount of sclerosis at fracture edges, ligamentous integrity and vascularity of the proximal pole. The purpose of this prospective study is to evaluate kirschnerwires fixation technique to stabilize non-united scaphoid fractures with early osteoarthritis (snac1) and evaluate the clinical results.Thirty patients with more than 6 months duration of scaphoid fractures were fixed by wires graft and radial stylodectomy and followed up for a period of 6-36 months ;. 25 fractures healed in a mean time 19.28weeks with improvement of functional wrist scores
