Abstract Background: breast conservative surgery has become the a commonly used method in the treatment of early breast cancer. There are two fundamentally different approaches for breast defect management in OBS: volume-displacement procedures, and volume-replacement procedures. Objective: The present study was designed to assess patient satisfaction with cosmetic outcome after oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery, and to establish the correlation between patient satisfaction and percentage of breast volume excision Methods: One hundred patients with early breast cancer underwent oncoplastic volume displacement & volume replacement procedures. Inclusion criteria were, Patients with early breast cancer (T1-2N0) & Exclusion criteria: were Patients with breast cancer (T3) lesion or those with (N1) and Patients with contraindication for radiotherapy. Preoperative evaluations, including breast and tumor size, localizations and features, were performed by physical examination, imaging methods, and histopathological analysis. Appropriate volume displacement techniques were planned according to breast and tumor size and localization. Early and late aesthetic results were evaluated. Results: The mean age of the patients was 45.7 years, and mean tumor size was 25 mm. (78) patients underwent Volume displacement surgery (with small/ moderate sized breast).Twenty two (22) patients underwent Volume replacement techniques. Complications were found in 41% of cases, such as delayed healing, hematoma, seroma, or abscess, fibrosis of the scar, keloids and steatonecrosis |
