Abstract Objectives: MRI examination of perianal fistula patients has become crucial in pre-operative assessment of fistula types, extensions and complications to achieve proper treatment plan. In the present study, the main objective was to prove the MRI DWI/quantitative DTI sequences{u2019} ability of diagnosing different perianal fistulae inflammatory activity. Methods: Quantitative DTI & DWI examination of 63 perianal fistulae patients were done and compared by clinical and surgical data. Results: When correlated with clinical and surgical diagnoses, quantitative DTI examination of perianal fistulae was proved to be effective regarding the ability of diagnosing inflammatory activity. Conclusion: quantitative DTI assessment has proved to be an effective, non-invasive method in assessing the fistula activity |
