Abstract
Pregnancy is a condition of hypercoagulation. For the continuation of a pregnancy, platelets play a delicate function in preserving the equilibrium between prothrombotic tendency and placental development. The decreased platelet volume is a strong indication that platelet synthesis is increasing. Increased MPV reflects increased circulatory platelets and the aggregation ability of platelets.
