Abstract

Bronchiectasis is a chronic and debilitating pulmonary disease characterized by irreversible expansion of the bronchi as a result of airway injury and remodelling due to recurrent or chronic airway inflammation and infection. (Fuschillo , 2008) Dilation of the airways can lead to failure of mucus clearance and increased risk of infection.(Chalmers,2018) Underlying aetiologies include severe infections, and acquired disorders. (Fuschillo ,2008))Typical features of the disease included wet cough, purulent fetal sputum, shortness of breath, and low-grade fever.Cystic fibrosis is an autosomal recessive genetic disease in children that affects multiple systems caused by defective cystic fibrosis transmembrane regulator(CFTR) protein, which leads to the accumulation of sticky secretions in the affected organs and, as a consequence, results in a set of symptoms .(Diab- Cáceres,2021) Cystic. fibrosis (CF) lung disease characterized by reduced lung function, bacterial infection, inflammation of the airways, and structural changes as detected by computed tomography
