Abstract Background &Aim: The aim of study was to find the best physical therapy rehabilitation for CIDP patients and to find if There is a difference between using Russian current with exercise and exercise alone in isometric strength and balance in CIDP patients. Study design: a single blinded randomized control trial Methods: Twenty-four patients diagnosed with CIDP with average age from 30-50 years participated in the study. The patients were randomly allocated into two groups: The control group (GI): treated by the selected physical therapy program. The study group (GII): treated by the selected physical therapy program in addition to Russian current. Results: there was significant difference between groups in right quadriceps isometric strength (P>0.05) post treatment, in favor of study group (Russian current with exercise) and non-significant differences in other side, dorsiflexors, function and balance. In addition to that, there was significant difference within both groups in all of these outcomes, with more clinical improvement in function in experimental group. Conclusion: Adding Russian current stimulation to exercises shows improvement in function compared to exercise alone but still insignificance |
