Abstract

The halophyte Cakile maritima ssp. aegyptiaca (Wild.) belongs to the family Brassicaceae. It can live along the Mediterranean coast. C. maritima is growing with dimorphic leaf forms (entire and pinnatifid lamina). Therefore, the present work focused on comparing between these morphotypes as follows:
Chapter 1: Morpho-chemical and molecular characterizations of dimorphic forms of Cakile maritima Scop. the comparison depends on some qualitative and quantitative morpho-anatomical and physiochemical characteristics. Additionally, molecular analysis was set to study the genetic diversity. Chapter 2: Cytotoxic, apoptotic activities and chemical profiling of dimorphic forms of Cakile maritima Scop. the comparison is based on studying the cytotoxicity and revealing their mechanism of action in addition to their bioactive compounds.
