Scientific research is of paramount importance to humanity, as progress in this field is full of new scientific additions, which are a source that reveals to us many solutions to life’s problems, and this explains what the developed countries allocate from huge budgets to serve this field, and the sports field is one of the fields that have benefited Strongly from this great scientific development, which is a basis for the interrelationship between sciences and some of them, especially that sports psychology is one of these sciences and the most important of which has been employed to improve the level of sports performance.
Muhammad Allawi (2012) pointed out that psychology is one of the sciences that receives clear interest among individuals and groups of all kinds, as it is an applied science concerned with human behavior, experience, and mental and psychological processes in various fields related to sports and physical practice. (63:38)
“Abbas Ali” (2008) states that in recent years the world has been interested in tests and standards as effective means in the evaluation process, as tests and measurements in physical education are one of the effective and important means that work to consolidate the principles of programmed scientific planning based on the essence of modern scientific theories to reach The highest levels of sport in any sporting game or event.
And that the selection process for the admission of students to sports faculties must take into account these basic principles in the evaluation process. The process of admission to sports colleges is subject to several conditions, the most important of which is the success of physical fitness tests, which consist of several physical and skill tests, in addition to tests of strength and health status. (221:22)
Muhammad Allawi (2012), stresses that mental processes or cognitive processes are among the most important factors that constitute the basic determinants of behavior and experience. (272:38)
Mustafa Bahy, Samir Mahmoud (2006), states that the variables that some individuals suffer from are anxiety, which occupies an important role in psychology in general and sports psychology in particular, as it has clear effects on the psychological and physical aspects of the individual.(255:51)
Hamdi Al-Sisi (2013) believes that universities are one of the main pillars in the progress and development of societies as educational and educational institutions that contain a very important segment of society that cannot be underestimated, namely the students. One of the most prominent of these fields at the university level is sports activity, which plays a fundamental and important role in raising the university student’s mental and physical efficiency through the students’ practice of some sports activities. (155:11)
Research problem:
Through the researcher’s work as an assistant teacher at the Faculty of Physical Education, he found that physical education is a profession that has its rules, foundations, and sciences. It needs leaders integrated in preparation. Faculties of Physical Education are tasked with preparing these leaders. from carrying out their academic, practical and theoretical duties, and for this it has become necessary for those in charge of it to work on selecting students applying to join it according to special conditions and specifications. Faculties of physical education as a first step, then come up with appropriate tests to measure these abilities, skills and preparations, and work on legalizing them to ensure their scientific validity.
The researcher believes that professional preparation in physical education should start from the moment students are selected who wish to enroll in physical education faculties for the purpose of studying and working in this profession. This matter must be taken into consideration, as no student is fit to be a sports leader, as the sports educator has conditions and specifications that must be met by those who apply for this profession in order to ensure future success without obstacles. To achieve this, it is necessary to have comprehensive methods of selection characterized by accuracy, objectivity and the ability to predict success in the future.
from this standpoint, colleges of physical education all over the world tended to set conditions for passing certain exams to join them.
Paying attention to tests of physical fitness, skill, strength and health status specifications and neglecting tests that measure an individual’s preparations, mental abilities and psychological aspects of him, as mental abilities and psychological and cognitive skills are the decisive factors to ensure success in practical life after graduation, which called the researcher to legalize a psychological cognitive test for advanced students To join the Faculty of Physical Education, with the aim of preparing for the integrated personality in all aspects.
research aims:
The research aims to: Legalize a psychological cognitive test for students applying to join the faculties of physical education, through the following:
- Determining the basic factors for a psychological cognitive test for students applying to join the faculties of physical education.
- Determining the most appropriate phrases for the basic factors of a psychological cognitive test for students applying to join the faculties of physical education.
Search questions:
1- What are the most important tests for students applying to join the faculties of physical education?
2- What are the most important tests that measure the cognitive abilities of students applying to join the faculties of physical education?
3- Are the candidate trait tests groupable into acceptable factors and students’ trait tests can be extracted from them?
4- Are the candidate cognitive abilities tests able to be grouped into factors that can be accepted and extracted?
Search procedures:
• Research Methodology:
The researcher used the descriptive approach (the survey method) with its steps and procedures, due to its relevance to the research objectives.
• research community:
The research community includes male and female high school students in the Arab Republic of Egypt who wish to enroll in the faculties of physical education.
• The research sample:
The sample was chosen in an intentional way, and it consisted of (700) male and female students, which were divided into:
- The first group: male and female students of the pilot sample, which consisted of (100) male and female students from the secondary stage, to whom the test was applied in its second form.
- The second group: the male and female students of the basic sample, which consisted of (600) male and female students, on whom the test was applied in its third form.
Data collection tools:
- Analysis of previous studies.
- Forms to survey the opinions of experts.
Conclusions:
The test for applicants to faculties of physical education included:
1- The trait test, which contains (332) phrases.
2- The cognitive abilities test, which contains (25) statements.
Second: Recommendations:
1- Attention to evaluation and mental and psychological measurement in the sports field.
2- The inclusion of the psychological cognitive test for students applying to join the faculties of physical education within the abilities tests for admission to the faculties of physical education.

The researcher used the following statistical treatments:
1- Arithmetic mean.
2- The mediator.
3- Standard deviation.
4- sprain.
5- Pearson simple correlation coefficient.
6- Factor analysis using the Vermix method.
