Abstract The present study offers a literary-linguistic analysis of the theme of gender violence in the novel The Divines (2018) by the Colombian writer, Laura Restrepo through an interdisciplinary approach.Therefore, we will analyze the different degrees of gender violence starting from the reification of the feminine figure up to the Infanticide.The novel is based on a true story that deals with the kidnapping, torture, rape and murder of a seven-yearold girl in Colombia. First, a literary analysis of the phenomenon of gender violence will be made and its relationship with sub-themes such as: misogyny, femicide, double discrimination, narcissism and the psychological development of the aggressor and its relationship with the main topic.Second, a critical linguistic analysis of the discourse will be carried out to analyze the stylistic and pragmatic figures used by the author to reflect the intensity and atrocity of the mentioned themes. Finally, we will deduce the global vision of the author and the message she wants to convey in her novel |
