Abstract This prospective randomized study was carried out at urology department Menoufia university hospitals to study the outcome of single use flexible ureteroscopies in management of renal stones regarding surgical efficacy and peri-operative morbidity. It included 60 patients with renal stones and it was done in the period from June 2020 to June 2021. All patients were preoperatively evaluated in detail by medical history, physical examination including BMI, laboratory investigations including (urine analysis, urine culture, serum creatinine and routine pre-operative investigations), and imaging evaluation including (abdomino-pelvic ultrasound, KUB and Spiral C.T scans) in all cases. All cases were managed with single use flexible ureteroscopy either by PUSEN USCOPE 3011 (group A) or BOSTON SCIENTIFIC (LITHOVUE) group (B) and evaluated for anesthesia, position, urethro-cystoscopy, ureteric orifice, guide wire passing, ureteral dilatation, access sheath intro of FURS, energy, frequency, power, residuals and stone retrieval, operative time, lithotripsy time, termination of procedure, need of jj, intra operative complications, post-operative complications, hospitalization, NCCT post-operative and need for other procedures There was a high clearance rate of renal stones especially in patient who treated with flexible after failed ESWL especially in lower calyceal stones. As regard peri-operative complications there was no significant difference between our study and literature, As regard required image quality, there was better image quality in LITHOVUE than PUSEN 3011. |
