Abstract Cystic pancreatic lesions are challenging. Most of them are asymptomatic and are accidently discovered. There are heterogeneity in pathological classifications and guidelines of management of cystic pancreatic lesions. Forty seven patients were studied. The main results of the study revealed that: • Age ranges from 12 to 66 years with mean value 43.35±15.087 years. Males’ cases were 14(30.0%) while females’ cases were 33(70.0%). As regards to symptoms, the majority of cases were asymptomatic 38 (80.8%) of patients. Nine patients (19.14%) were symptomatic. • Hb ranged between 9-14g/dl. WBC ranged between 3x10 3/ ml-22x10 3 /ml. Platelets ranged between 116x10 3 /ml–659 x 10 3 /ml. Direct Bilirubin ranged between 0.08 –7.0 mg/dl. Urea ranged between 13–51mg/dl. Creatinine ranged between 0.4–1.8 mg/dl. Alkaline phosphatase ranged between 15–692 U/l. Prothrombin activity ranged between 65–98%. INR ranged between 0.8– 2.0. SGOT ranged between 11–767 U/l. SGPT ranged between 8–782 U/l. CEA ranged between 0.10 –6623 ng/ml. CA19-9 was ranged between 3–20000 U/ml Amylase ranged between 19–14087 U/ml. • The imaging modalities were ultrasonography (US) for 47 (100%) patients followed by CT 38 (80.0%) of patients followed by MRI 9 (19%) of patients followed by MRCP 6(12.67%) of patients followed by EUS 4 (8.5%) of patients. • The operations of the studied group were. 19 (40.44%) need distal pancreatectomy17 patients were open and 2 patients were |
