First:the problem of the study:
The human element is the real driving force for the development process, so societies seek to mobilize and organize their resources and material and human energy according to plans aimed at economic development to raise the standard of living and well-being of the masses of the people. In the production and services sectors, he is the first beneficiary of the development product. There is no question as to what type of human being and the extent of his belief in the value of work, his attitudes and habits, and the extent of his participation and loyalty directly affect the rates of development and its effectiveness in all sectors. (Amal Faisal Mubarak, 2014, p. 55).
Human life is a continuous attempt to conform and adapt to the obstacles or difficulties in the environment, and these attempts at reconciliation may succeed sometimes and fail at other times, and not all of us are able to bear deprivation and failure to the same extent, because many people cannot bear the pressures of this worldly life. And the experiences of failure for them are traumatic experiences that he cannot bear. (Salwa Othman and others, 2004, p. 337).
This makes him look for someone to relieve this tension from him, and the person has gradually followed his way of striving, starting with his family, friends, or someone who gets to know him, and ends with charlatans to help him in that, but all of this has a simple effect and does not provide him with much treatment. (Youssef Abdel Wahab, 2001 , p. 277).
We find that psychiatric and mental patients suffer from a clear deterioration in social performance, inability to assume responsibility and dependence on others, and are characterized by withdrawal in social situations, which makes their social performance significantly lower. This results in clear shortcomings in their abilities to social adaptation, as well as their low level of participation with others in various social activities, and their inability to establish friendships with them. (Adel Abdullah, 2003, p. 12).
Therefore, attention must be paid to this category of patients, especially patients suffering from mental and psychological diseases, because they are manifestations of personality disorder and poor compatibility, although there is a difference between them in terms of origin and precipitating factors.
(Salwa Othman et al., 2004, p. 341).
Therefore, the researcher will focus on schizophrenia, one of the most important diseases facing therapists and psychiatrists, and in the past it was believed that there is no hope of recovery from this type of disease and some considered it a disaster as it appears early and then goes on and worsens without responding to treatment for years, and (Krapebelin) sees that These patients are exposed to problems that may be easily understood, and that they have personalities that can be studied and know the pressures they have been exposed to, and that these patients may be in a state of stagnation or a state of agitation, as they show signs of social deterioration. (Zainab Mahmoud Shukair, 2005, pg. 388).
It is a profession that has its own technical methods and methods at the theoretical and applied levels, capable of playing an effective role with other disciplines in dealing with patients with mental and psychiatric diseases in general and schizophrenia patients in particular to help them improve and strengthen their capabilities. We find that serving the individual is one of the ways of service. The social work that the social worker uses to help these patients. (Nahla El-Sayed, 1994, p. 2).
from the above it is clear that there is a close relationship between the profession of social work and the profession of psychiatry and dealing with mental illness, where the social worker is one of the members of the work team to achieve psychological treatment and has a role that is no less important than any member outside this team.
(Maryam Ibrahim Hanna and Ahmed Muhammad Al-Sanhoury, 1994, pp. 90,89).
And since the social worker is the professional person responsible for practicing the profession of social work - he is in constant need to acquire more knowledge, skills and experience, which will refine a professional personality so that he is more able to perform his responsibilities, and to contribute to a more effective role in improving professional practice. (Maher Abu Al-Maati 2000, p. 153).
This is what is referred to as the “continuous professional preparation” of the social worker to provide him with everything new, whether through periodic bulletins, scientific meetings, or training courses so that he can keep pace with these developments and raise the level of professional practice, achieving the best goals of the profession as required by the nature of work in the various fields of practice. (Maher Abu Al-Maati, 1998, pg. 203).
from this point of view, the social service seeks to adopt modern methods in order to reach high quality in the quality of professional performance of social workers. And by keeping pace with the current changes and the continuous professional preparation of social workers to provide them with knowledge, skills and all that is new through periodic bulletins and training courses in order to raise the level of professional practice with clients. (Reda Rajab Abdel Qawi, 2011, p. 1830).
